Shalom Saints of God.
Last week we had a respite from searing temperatures as rains began to fall. Its encouraging to note that this came concurrently with the Presidential call to prayer.
The Vice President,on behalf of our President instructed that Zimbabwe hold a period of national prayer from 9th to 17th Jan.
Two days into prayer week, rains set in. I quote
I quote, "In the face of this possible drought, it is important that we turn to Almighty God, The Creator and Sustainer of life, to heal our land, he said in part."
The presidential call followed a similar call by another Minister, who quoted Elijah , a man of like nature like ours who prayed earnestly, and God heard. His emphasis was that there was room for transformation as debilitating weather patterns could be turned around by the Hand of God.
I quote in part also from the Head of Christian Denominations spokes person, "This is a kairos moment that we, as a people, reflect on our ways and errors, recognise that we have sinned against God, repent and seek the face of the Lord for the revival and restoration of our nation and land".
